1,568 Sawdust Hearts Exhibition
November 2018
The exhibition was the culmination of collaboration and shared emotion on a huge scale.
The project would not have been possible without the support and encouragement of hundreds of artists, needleworkers and crafters from all over the UK.
THANK YOU to everyone who made it possible.
One heart represented each day of WW1. The exhibition's aim was to recognise the centenary of Armistice Day and the origins of Occupational Therapy.

Untangled Threads was delighted to be asked to exhibit at #RCOT 2019 in June. Helen Birmingham, (Textile Artist) will be donating a new piece of work to RCOT later in the year, which incorporates some of the hearts from the art installation at the original exhibition. Delegates were invited to add a small piece of stitched calico to the work.
The resources which were available to contributors of the 1,568 Sawdust Hearts Exhibition are made available here for use by Occupational Therapists, Teachers, Workshop Providers, historians and crafters. Please credit Untangled Threads if you reproduce or share any of this information.
